African Youth with Disabilities Network (AYWDN) is a Continental Network bringing together Youth with disabilities to work towards inclusion of youth with disabilities issues in their respective countries and across borders. The network was founded in May 2011 following a convening that was held in Kenya from 12 African countries to champion the agenda of youth with disabilities on the continent, which has been missing in development circles. The Sierra Leone Chapter is a Member of this global Movement in Africa and started its operation in 2012. With support from Open Society Initiative West Africa (OSIWA), it established its secretariat and officially launched AYWDN – SL in 2014.
